Manju Jois, the Ashtanga Yoga guru of Mysore in South India, is the eldest son of Shri K. Pattabhi Jois, recognized worldwide as the leading authority on Ashtanga Yoga. Manju was born on November 16, 1944. At the young age of seven, his father woke up Manju early every day to begin the lessons that would forever change the course of his life and the lives of those who would learn with him in years to follow. He started his teaching career at the age of 15 with his father and has been teaching ever since.

Manju considers it a great honor to be the son of Shri K. Pattabhi Jois. "He is my father and my teacher. "I am grateful for my mother and father." Manju's mother, Savatri Jois (Sathu in her family), was a loving wife, a loving mother and very good at Indian cuisine. Sadly, she died in 1997. Manju is devoted to his wife, Nancy, and their young daughter, Sathu, who was named after her grandmother and was born in 2002. Sathu is a talented beautiful girl who continues to bless the Jois family indefinitely.

Manju runs seminars on weekends, teacher training and intensive weekly classes. It incorporates pranayama and Vedic psalms into its classes, which go well with Ashtanga Yoga. Manju's intention is to teach in the way of ancient tradition and to provide the many benefits of Ashtanga Yoga to his students.

He hopes to bring the "best concentration and understanding" of Ashtanga Yoga to his students in a world full of distractions. Manju's dedication to teaching and practicing yoga has conveyed the benefits of the ancient Ashtanga Yoga tradition to many students around the world, leading everyone to "unite with themselves."
